Violin & Viola Teacher
Darius started playing violin at the age of 9 and quickly moved onto the viola. In 2010 he was granted entry into a Bachelor of Music (performance) at Sydney Conservatorium of Music without a UAI and was also awarded a merit based scholarship worth $20,000. He plays professionally at the Opera House with the Sydney Philharmonia Orchestra, has over 10 years of teaching experience and has studied with some of the best teachers and performers in Australia, including Roger Benedict (principal viola, Sydney Symphony Orchestra)
He has a student centred approach and believes that the most effective teaching method is to connect with each student and come down to their level. He believes that if a student truly enjoys lessons and looks forward to them every week, then they will be more interested in music, be willing to work harder and also be more receptive to feedback.

“Darius Kaperonis has been teaching viola to our daughter for 2 years. He is an outstanding, passionate and dedicated teacher. The best measure of a teacher’s talents in our opinion is how enthusiastic your child is to want to continually learn and that you notice continual development and improvement. Darius’s enthusiasm and creative approach to learning really connects with his students and inspires them to want to play. His interpersonal skills with young children shows in the way our daughter can communicate openly about what she is having problems with which allows Darius to focus on those specific areas. Our daughter talks about each lesson on returning home and how much she enjoys it.”
