Jeremy grew up in the United Kingdom started playing guitar at the age of 10. He studied Popular Music at Wakefield Music College and Newcastle Music College in the North of England. Jeremy also studied on the Licentiate of the London Guildhall School of Music (LGSM) Jazz course. He also holds a Masters of Teaching Degree from Western Sydney University and is an accredited NSW primary school teacher with lots of classroom experience.
As well as guitar Jeremy also plays and teaches Ukulele. He believes that the ukulele is an ideal access instrument to begin your musical journey – regardless of age. The instrument is ideally suited to beginners as well as musicians who have experience on other instruments.
Jeremys experience in primary school teaching has influenced his instrument teaching greatly. His lessons are highly personalised and are tailored to be both musical and thorough. He teaches beginners from their first day strumming with the instrument right through to advanced level fingerstyle chord melody performers. As well as teaching basic and advanced level ukulele and guitar he can teach practise skills and routines, musicianship, listening skills and performance skills.
Jeremy believes that students learn best when they are interested and have a passion to learn their instrument. This can be achieved by having a student centered approach to lessons which involves the student learning and singing music which they are passionate about and want to learn. This can involve learning songs they are familiar with and playing in groups with their peers and families.
