Katy Grisdale

Katy Grisdale is a well-travelled French Horn Player, having played with most of Australia’s Orchestras. In 2010 she completed a 9-month contract with the West Australian Symphony Orchestra. Previous to that she also completed a contract with the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra and an Associate Principal contract with the Melbourne Symphony Orchestra. She is also a casual member of Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra and the Opera Australia Orchestra.

Katy graduated from the Elder Conservatorium of Music with First Class Honours studying with Philip Hall and Philip Paine and then continued to complete a Graduate Diploma of music at the Sydney Conservatorium under the tuition of Ben Jacks.

Katy was Principal Horn of the Australian Youth Orchestra for 3 years including their 50th Anniversary European Tour in 2007. She was also a member of Sydney Sinfonia from 2006 – 2008 and in 2011 completed the Sydney Symphony Orchestra’s Fellowship program.

Katy has been teaching both privately and peripatetically in schools for 15 years.
