Yana is a confident and open minded tutor in piano and music theory with extensive performance and accompaniment experience, with woodwind, strings and choir/ensemble groups.

She began studying piano at the “LAD” Music School in Moscow at the age of 6, learning solfeggio, choir, and instrumental practice (piano). Later, Yana went on to complete the AMEB syllabus in Sydney and then achieved her Diploma of Piano Practice (AMusA) AMEB in 2019. She studied at Newtown High School of the Performing Arts, selective for music (Piano), completing Music 2 and Extension, earning her top marks and Band 6.

Her Bachelor of Psychology and studies help her students overcome performance anxiety, build confidence and play boldly. She has planned music theory lessons and had experience working with children with autism. Her teaching style adapts to suit the individual needs of each student. Yana integrates her understanding of the human mind into her teaching. She specializes in creating a safe, positive learning space where students can express themselves while building a rock-solid technical foundation.

Yana is experienced in both piano for leisure, AMEB syllabus teaching and exam preparation. Teaching students aged 5 and above, including adult beginners, Yana is a focused and dedicated piano tutor, having conducted lessons face to face for over 4 years in both private, accompaniment and volunteer work. Competing in several Sydney Eisteddfods, between 2016 till current, winning high prizes, she has also participated at concerts in Sydney at non for profit and fundraising events in schools.

Yana’s excellent teaching has then led to collaborative practice with the musicians in choirs and ensembles. She proactively builds a strong support network between staff and families to provide a consistent, student-centered approach. Experienced in AMEB exams accompaniment, Yana has been performing with students for the past 3 years.

Yana’s lessons are engaging, and she focuses on developing students’ performance skills and refining their technique through tailored instruction, while specialising in creating a safe, positive learning space where students can express themselves while building a rock-solid technical skills
