Violin Teacher in Sydney’s Inner West
Alvart’s interest in the violin was obvious when she was just 3 years old, as she watched a clip of Stephane Grappelli performing on TV. Her parents soon brought home a miniature violin, enrolled her in lessons and she participated in community concerts as soon as she could play her first piece.
A year and a half later, she played in her first Eisteddfod and came first in her section. At 7 years old, she began developing her technique with Robin Wilson at the Australian Institute of Music, while starting musicianship and ensemble classes for the first time. At age 10 she immersed herself in intensive accelerated lessons with Perry Tonoyan, and was accepted into the Sydney Conservatorium of Music High School in 2004. She graduated in 2008 with Wanda Wilkomirska as her violin teacher, and with a newly found passion for the viola, Alvart began playing in ensembles on both violin and viola, and in different orchestras in Sydney (Metropolitan Orchestra, Balmain Sinfonia, TKS orchestra, Rockdale Orchestra). In 2009, she started teaching violin and interactive music classes at Platinum Education. After her solo recital in 2011, she moved overseas to further her studies on the viola at the Yerevan Komitas State Conservatory, and had the wonderful opportunity to learn and perform with many different musicians from around the world.
Alvart is currently back in Sydney, and her love for teaching, performing, and listening to all kinds of artists work their own magic, inspires her to share this world with anyone who is willing to learn with her.
