Esther Lukins

Harp, Violin & Piano Teacher

Esther Lukins is a freelance multi-instrumental musician. Coming from classical roots in a musical family, she has been awarded AMEB diplomas in violin, piano, and recorder, and graduated in 2020 from a Bachelor of Music in harp performance under the tutelage of world-renowned harpist Alice Giles. Esther has extensive experience in a variety of music styles including improvisation, church music, pop and contemporary; performing regularly with indie bands around Sydney’s inner west, as well as writing her own songs and accompanying herself on harp or piano. Esther is a full-time performer, photographer, and music teacher, and you’ll find her at weddings, functions, and gigs nearly every weekend, whether she’s strumming classical and pop covers on her harp or singing and playing violin in a folk band.

Esther has performed with groups such as the Australian Youth Orchestra, the AYO Momentum Ensemble, National Capital Orchestra, the Canberra Symphony Orchestra, and the Seven Harp Ensemble. Together with her siblings she has recorded for ABC Riverina and Fine Music 102.5, performed as guest artists for the Australian Singing Competition Semifinals, and performed for the AMEB Centenary Celebration Concert and appeared on SBS Television. Esther is currently under string agency Vixen Strings and Cadena Strings and touring with Australian singer/songwriter Isobel Knight.

With over ten years of teaching experience, Esther has a passion for cultivating a love of music in her students, and equipping them with skills to pursue whatever area of music in which they have an interest.
