Esther Wong is currently studying harp performance under Alice Giles at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, but she also holds AMEB diplomas in violin, piano and recorder. By the age of thirteen, she had won the National Concerto Competition, performed twice as a soloist in the Sydney Opera House concert hall for Suzuki graduations, and performed as a soloist in the AMEB Graduation Ceremony.
Esther grew up in rural NSW as part of a musical family, and together with her siblings formed a chamber group and gave regular concerts for numerous music organisations. They have recorded for ABC Riverina and Fine Music 102.5, performed as guest artists for the Australian Singing Competition Semifinals, and last year performed for the AMEB Centenary Celebration Concert and appeared on SBS Television.
Esther has been a festival fellow for Canberra International Music Festival, a violinist in the Australian Youth Orchestra, and is currently a violinist in the Canberra Symphony Orchestra and a harpist in the Seven Harp Ensemble led by world renowned harpist Alice Giles. Esther has had over ten years of teaching experience over all four of her instruments and has a passion for cultivating a love of music in her students.
