Cello Teacher in Sydney

Julienne took up the Cello at age 13, starting her studies with Deborah Coogan and in 2005 went on to complete a Bachelor of Music (Performance) from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, studying under Susan Blake and Zoltan Szabo. Her performance repertoire includes 14 years at the Sydney Youth Orchestra and the SBS Radio and Television Youth Orchestra, where she had performed overseas on tour to Hong Kong, Macau, Germany and the Czech Republic as leader of the Cello section, toured regional NSW with the Sydney Conservatorium of Music as Cello leader of the Early Music Ensemble, and is a current tutti cellist in The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) performing in such events as the Doctor Who Symphonic Spectaculars, BBC Planet Earth and Frozen Planet shows, NSW tours with Olivia Newton John and John Farnham, performing on the Voice with Ronan Keating, performing as part of the 8 Cellists of TMO and Cellists of TMO quartet on board the BRAVO Cruise of the Performing Arts as well as performing in The Metropolitan Orchestra’s regular concert subscription series.

Her mentors have included Georg Pedersen, having played in the Sydney Conservatorium Cello Ensemble and Julienne has received masterclasses from The Grainger Quartet, Patrick Murphy, Daniel Yeadon and Neal Peres De Costa.

Julienne currently works as a freelance musician and performs as a member of The Metropolitan Orchestra (TMO) and the Lurline Chamber Orchestra (LCO). She also mentors future young musicians, teaching in private and public schools across Sydney including Rosebank College, Reddam House, tutoring for the Lane Cove Youth Orchestra and teaching privately
